Adverse Weather – Door Schedule Changes

Security Applications and Technologies will override preset door schedules according to adverse weather conditions 1, 2 and 3, below, and other emergency conditions that the university declares.

Condition 1 Reduced Operations

(Classes are in session and the university is open.)

• Door unlock schedules remain unchanged.

Condition 2  Suspended Operations

(Classes are cancelled and the university is open on a very limited basis.)

• Daily unlock schedules are overridden and all electronic doors are secured.
• Card Access remains working as normal.
• Exempt: University Housing, NCSU Libraries, NCSU Student Centers, and College of Veterinary Medicine are exempt and require individual requests to be sent to the SAT Help Desk.

Condition 3  Closure

(Classes are cancelled and the university is closed.)

• Daily unlock schedules are overridden and all electronic doors are secured.
• Card Access remains working as normal.
• Exempt: University Housing, NCSU Libraries, NCSU Student Centers, and College of Veterinary Medicine are exempt and require individual requests to be sent to the SAT Help Desk.

Need to Change a Door Schedule?

Once the university has declared an Condition 2 or Condition 3, SAT will override daily schedules and secure doors as described above. If your department chooses to close earlier or stay closed longer than stated in the Adverse Weather notification, please have your Security Liaison submit this request form or contact the SAT Help Desk at sat@ncsu.edu or 919-513-3111.
